Yes, the funding model was tough for me to accept - conflicted, for me, with the desire to serve 'freely.' But I think the key principle behind having people pay for the services we provide was to put ourselves at the mercy of the market, to keep us sharp, effective, really meeting real needs, and I see that point as well.
